{"id":987520866,"date":"2021-04-12T02:56:52","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T01:56:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/news\/the-government-of-mongolia-aims-to-vaccinate-60-percent-of-its-population-by-july-2021\/"},"modified":"2023-03-02T10:26:56","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T09:26:56","slug":"the-government-of-mongolia-aims-to-vaccinate-60-percent-of-its-population-by-july-2021","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/en\/news\/the-government-of-mongolia-aims-to-vaccinate-60-percent-of-its-population-by-july-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"The Government of Mongolia aims to vaccinate 60 percent of its population by July 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Globally, countries are taking action to vaccinate the appropriate size of the population to fight against coronavirus disease as quickly as possible.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Mongolia is no exception from the COVID-19 vaccination target<strong>.&nbsp;<\/strong>According to the press release from the Government Media and Public Relations, Mongolia is planning&nbsp;<strong>to vaccinate&nbsp;all adults<\/strong>&nbsp;which are&nbsp;<strong>60 % of the total population<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>by July&nbsp;2021<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The vaccination milestone<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span lang=\"EN-US\">The COVID-19 National Deployment and Vaccination plan identified the order of vaccine priority for population groups as shown in the picture above.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span>As of the 1st of April, a total of 311,262 people (15,4 % of the targeted population) have gotten the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so far nationwide. Within them<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">,&nbsp;<strong><span>98 %&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span>of<strong>&nbsp;the health workforce<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span>99 %&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span>o<strong>f workers in the frontline<\/strong>&nbsp;to battle the COVID-19, and&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span>45 %<\/span>&nbsp;<\/strong><span>of the elderly population<strong>&nbsp;aged over 50 years <\/strong><\/span><strong><span>have been inoculated<\/span><\/strong><span>.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span>Since the second half of March, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has increased dramatically with daily about 400 cases on average and reached a total of 8841 cases so far on 1st of April. 82.2 percent (7267 cases) of the total cases were detected in Ulaanbaatar city. Therefore, the Government of Mongolia is planning to accelerate the Covid-19 immunization campaign and announced to vaccinate 1,1 million people (55 % of the targeted population) in April and May.
