The approval was a significant accomplishment as discussions around the bill started over 17 years prior, as stated by the <em><span>Hon. Dr. Jane Aceng, Uganda\u2019s Minister of Health<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><em><strong><span><span>\u201c17 years of drafting, discussions, negotiations and engagements,\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>With the cabinet\u2019s approval, the bill was sent to the parliament of Uganda for debate, recommended amendments, and approval for enactment.
