{"id":987521401,"date":"2020-10-29T03:04:10","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T02:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/news\/the-social-protection-and-health-action-research-and-knowledge-sharing-sparks-network-is-going-to-organize-a-virtual-conference-on-bridging-the-sdgs-to-optimise-health-related-social-protection-from\/"},"modified":"2023-03-02T10:39:17","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T09:39:17","slug":"the-social-protection-and-health-action-research-and-knowledge-sharing-sparks-network-is-going-to-organize-a-virtual-conference-on-bridging-the-sdgs-to-optimise-health-related-social-protection-from","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/en\/news\/the-social-protection-and-health-action-research-and-knowledge-sharing-sparks-network-is-going-to-organize-a-virtual-conference-on-bridging-the-sdgs-to-optimise-health-related-social-protection-from\/","title":{"rendered":"The Social Protection and Health Action Research and Knowledge Sharing (SPARKS) Network is going to organize a virtual conference on Bridging the SDGs to optimise health-related social protection from 2-3 December 2020."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;Social Protection and Health Action Research and Knowledge Sharing (SPARKS) Network is going to organize a virtual conference on <strong>Bridging the SDGs to optimise health-related social protection<\/strong> from&nbsp;<strong>2-3 December 2020<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>The main objectives:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 To share the experiences and results from the first four years of SPARKS and other similar research to identify lessons learned for broader work on health-related social protection and opportunities for scaling-up.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 To review the interlinkage between health-related social protection and universal health coverage, examine the place of health-related social protection in the SDGs, and identify promising entry-points for inter-sectoral action.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 To share country experiences of implementing and scaling up integrated action on social protection and UHC and identify lessons learned.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>There is a session to discuss health-related social protection in the SDGs.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Agnes Soucat, WHO Director for Health Systems Governance and Finance will speak about SDG3- UHC through social health protection: achievements and gaps on <strong>2nd<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>December session 2 &nbsp;from 14:50-15:05<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Other high-level officials from ILO, WPF, NGOs and CSOs will speak about the link with the SDG 1, SDG 2 and SDG 8.<\/p>\n<p>Another session on country experiences of linking health and social protection in times of ill health will be on <strong>3rd December from 15:55-16:55<\/strong> where national country representatives from Ghana, Myanmar, Pakistan, Niger and others are invited to speak.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The SPARKS Network was established by LSHTM and the Karolinska Institute with WHO\/GTB engagement in 2016.
