It shows that current health expenditure (percentage of GDP) increased from 9.2% in 2011 to 10.2% in 2016, while there was a significant drop in household out of pocket expenditure, from 49.0 % in 2011 to 20.6% in 2017. In 2020, the government health spending skyrocketed in response to COVID-19 pandemic in which 16.5 % of the total government expenditure was allocated to health.
