COVID-19 showed how critical a prepared health system is to protect New Zealanders and support their wellbeing.&nbsp;The budget will make significant investments including establishments of the new entities that&nbsp;will replace District Health Boards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the budget will begin to apply a multi-year approach to funding the health sector. At the beginning, it will be a two-year funding path.
