While the P4H network’s focus is mainly on health financing policy and strategy for UHC\/SH<\/b>P and coordination of development cooperation<\/b>, the Joint Learning Network (JLN) provides a platform for more technical level practitioner-to-practitioner <\/b>and South-South learning<\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The approaches and added value of both networks complement each other.\u00a0 <\/span>There is also an overlap in various countries both networks are working with, e.g. Indonesia, India, Mali, Nigeria, Kenya, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Zambia, Nepal and Burkina Faso.<\/span><\/p>\n

The recent discussions between JLN core team members and the P4H CD are summerised below by Somil Nagpal :<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>JLN being an ongoing platform for engagement of the P4H Leadership for UHC course participants from Africa<\/span><\/p>\n

– \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Potential co-hosting of the next course with WB-LLI and P4H joining hands with JLN, in Asia (they do use several P2P tools in their leadership course- though this does not yet fit in any existing JLN technical initiative, which also keeps the P4H piece distinct from JLN but with a lot of synergy in participants and follow-up activities)<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Potential involvement of P4H coordinators in JLN country core groups for common coordination of activities (and avoiding any duplication), in countries where they are very deeply engaged<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>On the sidelines of the event, the Nigeria team also expressed keen interest and discussed a potential sub-national joint learning platform on the lines of the India Forum, which will be further explored when the TTL (Karima Saleh) is next on mission in early May.<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Overall, wider engagement of stakeholders in the JLN CCG as a coordination mechanism which maybe useful beyond JLN, was also discussed, and also noted for action in the near future by the MOH representative from Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
