One of the strategies chosen was the introduction of <\/span><\/span><span><span>the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) with the goal of improving access to quality healthcare services without patients suffering financial hardship. The NHIF was initially piloted in four counties in 2018\/2019 and has since been scaled up.
