{"id":987653022,"date":"2021-06-07T03:19:49","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T02:19:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/news\/senegal-data-analysis-workshop-as-part-of-the-study-on-catastrophic-healthcare-expenditure-2014-2019\/"},"modified":"2021-06-07T03:19:49","modified_gmt":"2021-06-07T02:19:49","slug":"senegal-data-analysis-workshop-as-part-of-the-study-on-catastrophic-healthcare-expenditure-2014-2019","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/en\/news\/senegal-data-analysis-workshop-as-part-of-the-study-on-catastrophic-healthcare-expenditure-2014-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Senegal: Data analysis workshop as part of the study on catastrophic healthcare expenditure 2014-2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>In Thi\u00e8s, where the workshop was held, the aim was to analyze <span>secondary data following the methodology adopted in the 2014-2019 Catastrophic Health Expenditure Study <\/span>.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>More specifically, the work involved&nbsp;:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>share the methodological orientation report (ROM) for the catastrophic expenditure study drawn up by the consultant&nbsp;;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>validate the ROM presented by the consultant&nbsp;;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>identify data sources&nbsp;;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>draw up a schedule for the consultant&#8217;s support by the Health Economics Unit.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>The ROM presentation was followed by discussions on the proposed methodology, data availability and thresholds for calculating catastrophic expenditure.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><br \/>\n  <span><br \/>\n    <span><br \/>\n      <span>The&nbsp; four days of work (May 4, 5, 6 and 7)&nbsp;continued with data identification, with the main source being the<\/span><br \/>\n    <\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><span><br \/>\n  <span><br \/>\n    <span>ANSD.<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>In developing the data analysis plans, we drew inspiration from the first Catastrophic Health Expenditure study, to make it easier to compare the results of the two studies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Finally, a 45-day work schedule was proposed by the consultant and validated by the plenary session.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span><span><span><span><span><span>Source: P4H focal point Mame Abdoulaye Gueye.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Thi\u00e8s, where the workshop was held, the aim was to analyze secondary data following the methodology adopted in the 2014-2019 Catastrophic Health Expenditure Study .
