{"id":987653235,"date":"2021-09-27T03:17:15","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T02:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/news\/p4h-sfha-niger-focal-point-takes-office\/"},"modified":"2021-09-27T03:17:15","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T02:17:15","slug":"p4h-sfha-niger-focal-point-takes-office","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/p4h.world\/en\/news\/p4h-sfha-niger-focal-point-takes-office\/","title":{"rendered":"P4H\/SFHA NIGER: focal point takes office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Caremel has been P4H\/SFHA&#8217;s Focal Person in Niger since August 21.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>SFHA members <a href=\"https:\/\/p4h.world\/en\/newsletter\/p4h-governance-group-newsletter-20213\">helped to define its role with the<\/a> Niger <a href=\"https:\/\/p4h.world\/en\/newsletter\/p4h-governance-group-newsletter-20213\">Ministry of<\/a> Health and to recruit its staff at the WHO country office.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Trained as an economist and political scientist, since 2011 he has been conducting socio-anthropological research in Niger on the functioning of healthcare systems and the implementation of reforms at local level.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Before joining P4H, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois worked on health system strengthening interventions and the promotion of strategies to improve access to healthcare in Africa, particularly in the Sahel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>As P4H\/SFHA&#8217;s focal person in Niger, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Caremel will apply his skills through operational research activities to promote the coordination and alignment of partner organizations and Niger&#8217;s Ministry of Health on health financing and UHC issues.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Contact&nbsp;:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:caremelj@who.int\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">caremelj@who.int<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Caremel has been P4H\/SFHA&#8217;s Focal Person in Niger since August 21.
