In line with the regulations of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), the government has initiated a far-reaching reform of public finance management, with the introduction of the program budget.<\/p>\n
With the adoption by Parliament in 2017 of a budget presented according to a program-based approach, the Ministry of Health was one of the first pilot ministries to embark on this reform and successfully make the transition to institutionalization, consolidating a budget around three major budget programs, aligned with the orientations of the National Health Development Plan (PNDS). <\/p>\n
One of these orientations, the investments needed to improve community health, offers the country the opportunity to focus the efforts of all players on a few high-impact priorities and strategies to boost progress.<\/p>\n
