Sixty-five thousand (65,000) self-employed workers have been enrolled by the Caisse Nationale de Pr\u00e9voyance Sociale (CNPS) in six months, under the Social Scheme for Self-Employed Workers (RSTI), said Simon Adou, head of coordination of the social scheme for self-employed workers at the project management of the Caisse Nationale de Pr\u00e9voyance Sociale (CNPS), on Tuesday January 11, 2022 in Abidjan.<\/p>\n
It is important to point out that, under article 36 of the law instituting Universal Health Coverage in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (CNAM) may delegate some of its powers to delegated management bodies. A distinction is made between delegated management bodies responsible for contributions, known as : “OGD COTISATIONS”, and delegated management bodies responsible for benefits, known as : “OGD PRESTATIONS”. These will be discussed shortly, but as far as the CONTRIBUTIONS OGDs are concerned, their mission is to collect contributions from the policyholders attached to them, and to pay the contributions collected to CNAM.<\/p>\n
OGD COTISATIONS’ missions have thus been entrusted to structures such as l’Institution de Pr\u00e9voyance Sociale Caisse Nationale de Pr\u00e9voyance Sociale (IPS-CNPS) for private-sector employees, pensioners and families.<\/p>\n
More 6 million <\/strong>workers were not covered by the social security system in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire due to their self-employed status. By Order no. 2019-636 of July 17, 2019 establishing social protection schemes for self-employed workers, the State of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire has entrusted IPS CNPS with the implementation and management of the said scheme, thereby extending the scope of our Instruction to this segment of the working population.<\/p>\n
