This was announced in a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imf.org\/en\/News\/Articles\/2021\/01\/25\/pr2121guinea-bissau-imf-executive-board-approves-emergency-assistance-to-address-covid-19\">&nbsp;press release&nbsp;<\/a>published on January 25, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The new financing has been granted as part of a rapid credit facility (RCF), the aim of which is to help the government meet urgent budgetary and balance of payments needs arising from the covid-19 pandemic.
