Below is a summary of the main points from the June 3 meeting:<\/p>\n<p><strong>A presentation of the steps involved in setting up the National Health Insurance Institute (INAM) in Niger.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The technical support of the CMU expert is crucial and has helped to implement :&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Strategic purchasing \/ PBF<\/li>\n<li>Harmonization and alignment of the various financing mechanisms for free health care \/ CMU in Niger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following steps are&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"circle\">\n<li>Development and validation of the decree creating INAM (to be presented to the Government today&nbsp;June 3)<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the management of this free policy to INAM (including settling outstanding debts on reimbursements)<\/li>\n<li>This means identifying the management team, i.e. recruiting a general manager who will then put together the team.<\/li>\n<li>Organization of technical meetings and stakeholder consultations, to identify sources of funding for the establishment and operation of INAM, at least for its launch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A scoping meeting on health financing in Niger brought together experts working on the issue on a virtual platform.
