Speaking to the press on December 28, 2023, the Organization for New Initiatives in Development and Health (ONIDS) took stock of the implementation of its project, which urged private companies to act for greater social responsibility in financing health care in Burkina Faso.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Agir pour une responsabilit\u00e9 sociale accrue des entreprises priv\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re de financement de la Sant\u00e9 sexuelle, reproductive, maternelle, n\u00e9onatale, de l’enfant et de l’adolescent, et de nutrition (SRMNEA-N) au Burkina Faso”. A total of 190 companies made it possible to carry out the study, which presented the results according to which companies in Burkina Faso promote health, according to Dr Nassa<\/span>, the consultant who carried out the study.<\/span> However, it is companies with sales of over 10 billion CFA francs that contribute to CSR.<\/span><\/p>\n

“When we do a time analysis, we see that from 2011 to 2021, we’ve gone from funding of 10.5 billion CFA francs to 26.5 billion CFA francs.<\/span> However, when we analyze SRMNEA’s funding, we see that it represents<\/span> only 0.3% of these expenses,” he points out.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the consultant, the reasons for the low level of corporate funding for SRMNEA<\/span> include the CSR legal vacuum, political instability, insufficient resources and lack of awareness. That’s why the study made recommendations.<\/span> These include raising companies’ awareness of the health aspect of CSR, drawing up a clear regulatory framework for CSR by adopting incentives for companies that respect CSR, and involving civil society organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). that ONIDS<\/span> in raising company awareness.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
