Seizing the opportunity of the 12th International Congress of the Association des Anciens de la Facult\u00e9 de M\u00e9decine (AFMED), the Minister of Health advocated compulsory health insurance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I stressed the importance of thoroughly overhauling our national healthcare system, moving it towards a contributory model that will enable every citizen to contribute to access to healthcare. This overhaul will include the introduction of compulsory health insurance for all Congolese, thus guaranteeing universal health coverage for the entire population, and will enable access to healthcare services for vulnerable people, as is currently the case with free maternity care, whose program is being extended to the provinces of Kongo-Central, Tshopo, Kasai-Oriental, Sankuru and \u00c9quateur, in addition to the 11 provinces already covered”, declared the Minister of Health.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
