“Generally speaking in Senegal, nearly 3,000 companies have not affiliated their employees to the IPM (Institutions de Pr\u00e9voyance Maladie). Not all companies are yet complying with this obligation to affiliate their employees.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

<\/strong>Marie Rosalie Ngom Coly was speaking at a press luncheon organized by ICAMO for the Association des journalistes en sant\u00e9 population et d\u00e9veloppement (AJSPD). <\/p>\n

In terms of statistics, the latest report produced in 2022 shows that nearly 4,000 companies in Senegal<\/a> have signed up to the IPM. To combat social evasion, ICAMO has set up a program focusing on awareness-raising, using the press as a relay, and discussing the content of the texts with resource associations.
The ICAMO director also revealed to journalists that a targeting study, which consists of comparing databases, has shown that 3,000 companies are affiliated to the IPRES (Institution de Pr\u00e9voyance Retraites du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal) but not to the IPM. Labor and social security inspectors will be sent out into the field to monitor the companies detected, and will be divided up by region to remind people that it is compulsory for workers to be affiliated to the IPM.
She therefore hopes that, following these targeted checks, the majority of companies in Senegal will finally comply with the obligation to affiliate their workers to an IPM in the same way as their affiliation to the social security fund and IPRES. <\/p>\n
