The region of Latin America and the Caribbean is increasingly active in the P4H Network. P4H\u2019s academic members in the region are collaborating on an upcoming webinar on the challenges of financing universal health coverage, using the cases of Colombia and Peru.<\/strong><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”TO BE EDITED – TEXT OF THE NEWS – BLOCK 1 ” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]Two members from the academic constituency of the P4H Network wish to collaborate on a webinar and submitted a concept note for it to the P4H Coordination Desk on 28 February 2025. The University of Antioquia in Colombia and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru proposed a webinar on the challenges to financing universal health coverage (UHC) through an examination of recent reforms in the two countries. [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”TO BE EDITED – TEXT OF THE NEWS – BLOCK 2 ” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Advancing UHC requires sustainable financing strategies, translated into well-resourced budgets supporting robust approaches, thereby promoting access to quality health care. Social health protection is one of those approaches, as it eliminates direct payment, which is a barrier to access at the time of procuring services.
