The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been a key development partner for Azerbaijan since 1999, investing approximately $5.6 billion across public and private sectors, primarily in transportation and energy. Under its new Country Partnership Strategy (2025-2029), ADB plans to invest up to $2.5 billion to support Azerbaijan\u2019s transformation into a regional hub for connectivity, trade, and energy linking Central Asia and Europe. ADB\u2019s renewed focus includes advancing smart mobility infrastructure, renewable energy, digitalization, and skills development.<\/p>\n

As part of this broader strategy, Azerbaijan is included in ADB\u2019s regional project, the UHC PEERS Network, aimed at accelerating universal health coverage (UHC) across 43 countries. This project, funded through a $495,000 Special Technical Assistance Fund, will help Azerbaijan strengthen its healthcare system by facilitating knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the development of digital, gender-sensitive healthcare tools. The initiative addresses critical challenges such as limited informal sector coverage, service quality, high out-of-pocket healthcare costs, and post-COVID-19 service disruptions. Through this partnership, ADB enhances Azerbaijan\u2019s healthcare accessibility while supporting national development priorities aligned with sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
