While some countries in the region have made significant progress advancing universal health coverage (UHC), others are at the beginning of their process.
\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”TEXT – BLOCK 2 ” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]The P4H Asia Network was created during the SEARO-WPRO Bi-Regional Health Financing Policy Workshop in New Delhi in 2017<\/a>, held by WHO\u2019s South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and the Western Pacific Regional Office\u00a0(WPRO). The meeting was co-sponsored by the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, two of the P4H Network\u2019s members.
\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”TEXT – BLOCK 3″ _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]The P4H Asia Network is a space for Asian countries to share common policy issues and experiences, best practices and lessons learned. Experts from 18 Asian countries, international organizations and development partners actively participate, support, guide, and benefit from the P4H Asia Network\u2019s activities, all of which relate to social health protection (SHP) and health financing (HF) reforms and advancing UHC.[\/et_pb_text][ba_gradient_heading title=”Collaborations: moving the needle towards UHC in Asia” html_tag=”h3″ primary_color=”#455A64″ secondary_color=”#455A64″ admin_label=”HEADING (50-60 characters)” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” title_font=”||||||||” title_font_size=”28px” title_line_height=”1em” custom_padding=”15px||10px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/ba_gradient_heading][et_pb_text admin_label=”TEXT – BLOCK 4 ” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]The P4H Asia Network enjoys\u00a0a nexus with the\u00a0Asia-Pacific Network for Health System Strengthening<\/a>\u00a0(ANHSS), a knowledge sharing platform for health systems strengthening in the region, and CONNECT<\/a>, the network on SHP. Together they facilitate country dialogues, cross-country studies, capacity building, policy development and knowledge sharing in the region.
\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”TEXT – BLOCK 5″ _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1em||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]P4H collaborates with the\u00a0Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator<\/a>, helping regional institutions develop a stronger ecosystem in Asia for health policy and systems research (HPSR).

In 2022, the P4H Network supported a cross-national\u00a0study<\/a> of the impact of COVID-19 on SHP and HF in China, Korea, Mongolia, and Singapore.<\/p>\n

In 2024, P4H supported Seoul National University to develop a framework to assess HPSR domestic funding sources and opportunities. These activities reinforced the P4H Network\u2019s role as a unique platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and partnerships in the region.<\/p>\n
