Public funding comes mainly from general and specific taxes earmarked for the health sector. The state, through the    <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gub.uy\/ministerio-salud-publica\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  (MPH) de Uruguay y otros organismos descentralizados, se encarga de gestionar estos recursos. La financiaci\u00f3n de la sanidad en Uruguay se basa en el Fondo Nacional de Salud, que funciona bajo el principio de solidaridad y se financia mediante cotizaciones obligatorias de trabajadores y empresarios. Promover la equidad en el acceso a los servicios sanitarios es crucial para garantizar que todos los uruguayos se beneficien del sistema sanitario.
