Public funding comes mainly from general and specific taxes earmarked for the health sector. The state, through the    <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gub.uy\/ministerio-salud-publica\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minist\u00e8re de la sant\u00e9 publique<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  (MPH) de l&#8217;Uruguay et d&#8217;autres organes d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s, est responsable de la gestion de ces ressources. Le financement de la sant\u00e9 en Uruguay repose sur le Fonds national de la sant\u00e9, qui fonctionne selon le principe de la solidarit\u00e9 et est financ\u00e9 par les contributions obligatoires des employ\u00e9s et des employeurs.
