The policy brief, ‘Health Financing Options Towards Universal Health Coverage in Namibia’, published by the LHSS Project, examines Namibia’s current health financing mechanisms and explores ways to enhance resource allocation and expand health coverage. Despite significant progress in financial protection and service availability, equity gaps, funding adequacy, and inefficiencies remain. The brief proposes strengthening the tax-funded public health system as the backbone of Namibia’s universal health coverage (UHC) efforts while considering strategic purchasing and revenue-generating reforms to improve efficiency and equity.
