Makueni county has launched a health financing scheme called Makueni Care, allowing registered households to access free services at public hospitals. This brief provides an overview of how the scheme works and discusses how the SP4PHC team will support the County Government of Makueni to improve coherence between Makueni Care and other purchasing schemes and reform the scheme to strengthen the delivery of PHC services.
