The Kuwait Ministry of Health (MOH) and WHO Regional Office and Kuwait Country Office are jointly organizing a capacity building workshop on 30-31 March 2022, as part of an overall effort to strengthen capacity in health financing to support progress towards universal health coverage (UHC) in Kuwait. The workshop aims to benefit the staff in the MOH Planning Directorate, where a planned Health Economics and Financing Unit has been proposed. The purpose of the workshop is to increase participants’ understanding of how health economics and financing concepts and tools can contribute to better health financing reforms to support UHC.
The workshop will demonstrate applications and illustrations of these tools to ensure relevance to the health systems and financing landscape in Kuwait. It will be co-facilitated by Henrik Axelson, P4H Network Country Focal Person and Faraz Khalid, Technical Officer, Coordination for UHC, WHO regional office in Cairo. The Kuwait University School of Public Health and other UN agencies are being invited to co-facilitate workshop sessions as well.
