2020 Annual Review: 10 years in retrospect

Charlemagne Ouédraogo, Minister of Health,  reviewed the implementation of his sector’s actions over the last decade. These achievements can be summarized as follows: 

With regard to access to quality health services,  the head of Health indicated that, as part of the fight against malaria, medication had been administered to 3,474 600 children from 3 to 11 months and 15 518,910 children aged 12 to 59 months. There were also 7, ,026 ,852 care services for children under 5.

He went on to say that 2, ,045 ,037 free family planning services had been provided. In this respect, 116.8 billion FCFA have been mobilized for the purchase of healthcare services under the free healthcare scheme.

Finally, he addressed the issue of genital mutilation. A total of 12, ,771 girls and women were treated for complications or after-effects.
