BENIN/Projet ARCH: free health care for children in reception centers

Good news for children in Benin’s reception centers. They can now look forward to adequate, free health care, in line with the provisions of the decree of November 06, 2012 on norms and standards applicable to child care and protection centers in Benin.

On Monday, the Ministry of Social Affairs launched an operation to register them. This operation is part of the extension of the ” Assurance pour le renforcement du capital humain (Arch) ” project.

Once these steps have been taken, the Agence nationale de protection sociale (Anps) will be responsible for planning the collection of data from each vulnerable child in these reception centers, and for distributing the biometric cards. They will thus be able to benefit from the health insurance component of Arch, which entitles them to free health care.
