A total of USD 134 million has been allocated to the health sector for the financial year 2022-2023, which accounted for 12.9 percent of the total government budget.
The budget has been earmarked for Covid-19 related expenditures such as COVID-19 containment measures, vaccines, test kits, ventilators, and hospital equipment.
