BPJS-Kesehatan is a social security administering body for health which manages the national health insurance called Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) in Indonesia. In an interview with in the GovInsider, Ghufron Mukti, President Director of BPJS Kesehatan outlined how the BPJS Kesehatan is working to ensure affordable healthcare through digitalisation and inclusive health financing.
The strategies highlighted during the interview include:
- Digitalisation of the health insurance system for registration, contribution collection, and access to health services
- Maintaining active membership status with a variety of payment channels such as auto-debit, digital wallet services and e-commerce applications
- Ensuring inclusive health insurance through subsidies for the poor
