Dr Ritu Sadana, WHO Head of Ageing and Health, will discuss building an economy centred on well-being at an LSE seminar on 26 November 2024. The event will explore aligning economic, social, and health goals to prioritise people and planet over profits.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) will host a seminar titled An Economy for Well-Being – We Must Build This Together on Tuesday, 26 November 2024. Organized by LSE’s Global Health Initiative, Ageing@LSE, and the Department of International Development, the event will feature Dr Ritu Sadana, Head of Ageing and Health at the World Health Organization (WHO), as the keynote speaker.
Dr Sadana will share insights on creating an economy that places people and the planet at the heart of decision-making. The discussion will explore fostering investments that align with sustainable development goals, promoting shared values, and drawing in private finance to support these objectives.
Additionally, the seminar will examine how investments across all life stages can enhance opportunities, expand choices, and extend healthy life spans, encouraging individuals to reimagine their futures.
Dr Sadana, a global leader in ageing and health policy, brings over 30 years of expertise. Her work includes the WHO Global Strategy on Ageing and Health and the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing.
The seminar, chaired by Professor Tiziana Leone, will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm in Room 1.06 of LSE’s Centre Building. Attendees are encouraged to check the event listing for updates.
