Under the aegis of the President of Faso, the Conseil national de lutte contre le SIDA et les infections sexuellement transmissibles held its 19th ordinary session. It was an opportunity to validate the new HIV control framework covering the period 2021-2025.
The adoption of this strategy of free care and biological monitoring for people living with HIV/AIDS demonstrates Burkina Faso’s commitment to making the fight against HIV, AIDS and STIs a priority.
As at December 31, 2020, the resources mobilized to implement the National Multisectoral Plan to combat HIV, AIDS and STIs 2020 are estimated at 22 592 148 511 FCFA, against a forecast of 25 735 473 378 FCFA. This represents a mobilization rate of 87.79%. Resources spent over the same period are estimated at 21,975,737 ,821 FCFA. The absorption and execution rates are 97.27% and 85.39% respectively. However, there has been a decline in the contribution of national players to resource mobilization (government and national private companies).
