To date in Côte d’Ivoire, 3,165,273 people have been enrolled by the Caisse nationale d’assurance maladie, 3,048,485 people have been registered and 2,959,759 cards have been produced. The figures also show that 2,066,800 of the 2,959,759 cards produced were distributed, representing a distribution rate of 70%. However, according to CNAM, 900,000 cards are still available on the sites. This report was drawn up during a training seminar for journalists on the use of the CNAM membership card.
Despite more than five (5) years of awareness-raising, some people are still dragging their feet when it comes to registering for the Universal Health Coverage (Cmu) card. As a result, many people who have been enrolled are still unaware of how to use their Cmu card.
Aware of the importance of its role in the daily lives of the Ivorian population, the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (Cnam) takes daily action to encourage people to enroll en masse. This is the background to the training session held on September 24 in the Ivorian capital.
