Côte d’Ivoire-Covid19: a CFAF 59 billion response

A decree ratifying a loan of around 59 billion FCFA signed in July between the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to finance the Covid-19 strategic preparedness and response project was adopted by the Council of Ministers at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, September 06, 2022.

This project aims to further strengthen the national health system’s preparedness against Covid-19, so as to improve case detection, ensure better care for those infected, and guarantee the effectiveness of the vaccination system, said government spokesman Amadou Coulibaly.

This funding will be used to set up a network of Public Health Emergency Operations Centers in the selected regions, and to step up social mobilization and risk communication, as well as vaccination coverage, in order to strengthen national preparedness and resilience.
