A delegation led by Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, visited Serbia at Sanja Radojević Škodrić’s invitation. Discussions covered health insurance, financing, digital services, and reducing out-of-pocket costs. Both sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding for future cooperation.
A delegation from the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, led by Chairman Zaur Aliyev, conducted a working visit to the Republic of Serbia from May 15 to 18, 2024. The delegation included key agency representatives responsible for international relations, healthcare services, legal affairs, and strategic development.
As part of the visit, the delegation paid tribute to Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers at his monument in Tašmajdan Park, Belgrade.
At the invitation of Sanja Radojević Škodrić, Head of Serbia’s National Health Insurance Fund, discussions focused on experience exchange and future cooperation opportunities. The two institutions agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a legal framework for collaboration.
Key discussions included:

The delegation also visited public medical institutions in Belgrade, gaining insights into the organization of primary healthcare, outpatient and inpatient services, and emergency medical care.
This visit reinforces the Agency’s commitment to enhancing compulsory health insurance services through international collaboration. The Agency continues to engage with foreign institutions and global organizations to improve healthcare quality and accessibility.
