Indonesia pushes for health transformation

Indonesia’s Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto has underscored the need for health transformation to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.

According to Antara News, as report by Rahmad Nasution, on June 6, 2024, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto delivered his speech at the 2024 HSBC Investment Forum titled “Empowering Indonesia’s 2045 Golden Vision within Healthcare Transformation” in Jakarta.

The Coordinating Economic Minister emphasized that health transformation is crucial for supporting economic growth and achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.

“Health transformation is the main pillar to achieving this vision. A healthy and productive society is the key to achieving significant economic growth for more equitable social welfare,” the Minister noted.

As stated by the Minister, “Healthy Indonesia” is a government program aimed at achieving the Golden Indonesia vision. It focuses on establishing a robust and responsive health system for better population health, targeting a stunting rate below five percent and eliminating tuberculosis and leprosy.

To support the health transformation, the government has increased the state budget by 8.1 percent from the previous year. This policy includes initiatives to boost the pharmaceutical industry, enhance access to care and quality of health services, and support the National Health Insurance program.
