Kuwait spends an average of 454 Kuwaiti dinar KD (1507 USD) on healthcare per capita, significantly higher than the regional average (World Bank). While the Kuwaiti government continues to be the main provider of health care it also recognizes the expertise that the private sector can bring to healthcare services and accessibility.
Expansion of public health services will go hand in hand to increase the system’s capacity and reduce the need for patients to seek treatment overseas. This will strengthen Kuwait’s health system generally to the benefit of the population.
