Lugano summer school: Measuring health spending to improve sector performance

The Lugano Summer School to be held between 21-23 August will explore methods for tracking health spending, measuring efficiency, and using provider payment systems to improve health sector performance and inform policy reforms.

The Lugano Summer School is offering an exciting course on Measuring Health Spending and Results to Improve Health Sector Performance and Meet Strategic Objectives and Inform Policy Reforms. This course addresses the challenges and opportunities of tracking health expenditures and assessing the efficiency of health systems, providing essential insights for policy dialogue and sector reforms.

Facilitated by Laura Di Giorgio, the course will explore methods for tracking expenditures, measuring sector performance, and using provider payment systems to drive health system goals. Drawing from real-world case studies in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia, the course offers practical knowledge applicable to both low- and high-income countries. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in group discussions and share experiences to foster a collaborative learning environment.
