Mandatory for employers to buy primary care plan for migrant workers in Singapore from Apr 1 - P4H Network

Mandatory for employers to buy primary care plan for migrant workers in Singapore from Apr 1

To enable affordable health care and financial risk protection among migrant workers in Singapore, employers are mandated to buy primary care plans for migrant workers as part of their work pass requirements, effective on April 1. The new regulation will be applied to work permit and S Pass holders* who live in dormitories as well as those who work in the construction, marine shipyard, and process sectors.

The plan will cover most primary care needs, including medical examinations for work pass application or renewal, unlimited acute or chronic medical consultations and treatments, telemedicine services, and annual basic health screenings.

Note: * S pass holder refers to mid-level skilled staff who are allowed to work in Singapore.
