Mr. Houd BABY is the brand new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mali’s National Health Insurance Fund (CANAM). He was elected on November 19 at the 28th ordinary session of the Board of Directors, chaired by the Minister of Health.
In her address, the Minister of Health and Social Development, Col Assa Badiallo Touré, emphasized that this session had a special significance, as it was marked by a solemn moment: the official installation of the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. ” Indeed, this handover is a key stage in the continuity and reinforcement of the actions of CANAM, a pillar of social protection in our country”, she noted. She went on to say that, in accordance with the provisions of article 10 of decree no. 09-553/PRM of October 12, 2009, the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors alternates between the representatives of the employers’ and workers’ trade unions.
For this term of office,” she asserts, “the presidency thus falls to the Employers’ Trade Unions, which are the Employers, in accordance with the rule of alternation.
“Your appointment to this Board is the result of unanimous recognition of your respective skills and experience. You join CANAM at a crucial time, when its role is asserting itself in the extension and accessibility of healthcare services for all our fellow citizens. The expectations placed on you are high, and the stakes just as high, because the aim is to reinforce the impact of CANAM’s actions, modernize its operations, and consolidate its position as a central player in our social protection system”.
For his part, the new Chairman of CANAM’s Board of Directors, Houd Baby, asserts that he is fully aware of the responsibility that now falls to him, particularly at the head of CANAM.
“Your support and confidence encourage me to do my utmost to live up to the expectations and ambitions we share for the future of this organization. In making this commitment, I assure you of my determination to work with rigor, transparency and in a spirit of collaboration,” he says.
