President of Turkmenistan opened new hospitals financed from state budget

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of two new hospitals – the Multidisciplinary and Cancer Hospitals, built in the administrative center of the northern region of the country – the city of Dashoguz on Friday. The opening ceremony was attended by vice-premiers, deputies of parliament, regional mayors, heads and representatives of ministries, public organizations, honorary elders and the youth. It was emphasized that ensuring the well-being and health of citizens is one of the primary tasks of the state policy implemented under the motto “A person-centered state”.

A 450-bed multidisciplinary hospital and a 150-bed cancer hospital were built and equipped from the world’s leading manufacturers in order to provide high-quality medical services to the population.

The multidisciplinary hospital consists of departments such as cardio-rheumatology, thoracic endovascular venous surgery, cardiology, traumatology and orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT department, physiotherapy, dentistry, hemodialysis, maternity ward and an emergency department. 

Earlier, in February 2019, the former President of Turkmenistan, the father of the current President, signed a Resolution, according to which the administration of Dashoguz Velayat entered into an agreement with “Ajaýyp-Gurluşyk” Private Company on project design and construction of the 450-bed multipurpose hospital and 150-bed cancer hospital. Both facilities were supposed to be equipped with modern medical equipment and consumables, modern engineering and utility systems connected with the external infrastructure. Construction works started in February 2019 and the facilities were commissioned in May 2022.
