On January 11, a videoconference workshop was held to validate the protocol of the study on the review of existing strategic purchasing mechanisms implemented by the Group.
implemented in Senegal. The aim is to validate the said protocol with a view to drawing up a document on strategic purchasing to be appended to the National Health Funding Strategy report.
The study in question specifically targets :
- map out the various purchasing mechanisms available in the healthcare sector ;
- determine the roles and responsibilities of the various players in the different strategic purchasing mechanisms at national level ;
- to analyze the various strategic purchasing mechanisms available in the Senegalese health sector;
- propose appropriate strategic purchasing mechanisms and their implementation in Senegal.
During this virtual meeting, discussions focused on the questions to be examined and the proposed methodological approach.
At the end of the discussions, the protocol was adopted with the recommendation to initiate another study that would not be limited to existing purchasing mechanisms.
