Members of the Permanent Secretariat for Social Protection held a working session with a World Bank delegation on Thursday, April 04, 2024 in Ouagadougou. During the meeting, the Burkinabe government unveiled its main priorities in the field of social security.
According to the Primature’s Director of Cabinet, Ferdinand OUÉDRAOGO, the ten priorities established by the members of the permanent secretariat include :
“The operationalization of the national empowerment program for poor or vulnerable households, the development of assistance services for children in vulnerable situations, the operationalization of universal health insurance and its extension to poor or destitute people, the introduction of unemployment insurance and the development of national expertise in social protection..”
Visit The World Bank is involved in Burkina Faso for the past ten years. One of the institution’s flagship projects (social safety nets) is coming to an end. And according to Amédé Bamouni, Permanent Secretary of the National Council for Social Protection, the World Bank is preparing a new project for Burkina Faso.
