The Wezou program complements CARMMA (Campaign for Accelerated Reduction of Maternal Mortality in Africa), whose scope of action is limited to Caesarean sections.
This program will progressively integrate all services for pregnant women, from confirmation of pregnancy to the 42nd day after delivery.
Wezou’ is up and running. To date, we have enrolled 909 pregnant women. They benefited from pharmacy services and delivery kits’, the Gulf prefectural health department said on Wednesday.
