Togo: local councillors targeted by malaria insurance

Togo’s local councillors were asked to provide a complete list of their peers without access to health insurance.
The political will shown by the President of the Republic comes in response to the extension of CMU to the Togolese population.

Health coverage has been operational in Togo since 2012 under the aegis of INAM, the national health insurance institute.

While there have been some notable developments over the decade, there is still considerable scope for progress towards global coverage. At the start of this year, INAM had just over 104, ,000 contributors, covering more than 250, ,000 people.
