This paper analyzes trends in provider fees, government spending on private out-of-hospital medical services, and out-of-pocket costs for cancer patients following policy changes aimed at reducing government expenditure. It highlights significant variations in out-of-pocket costs based on treatment type, geographic location, and additional government protections, with an overall increase in service volumes and fees. The findings underscore the importance of considering the implications of fiscal policies on high-need patients, as out-of-pocket expenses can hinder access to healthcare.
