Chad adopted its contingency plan for preparedness and response to the coronavirus disease epidemic (COVID-19) in March 2020. The aim of the plan is to prevent the introduction and transmission of the disease, to provide adequate care for sick people and thus reduce human morbidity and mortality, and to minimize the health, social and economic consequences of a possible epidemic on Chadian society. The total cost of implementing the contingency plan is estimated at 15.9 billion FCFA, or 24.3 million euros.
