Population ageing and sustainability of healthcare financing in China

China has already transitioned into a society deeply affected by ageing demographics. The study examines the impact of population ageing on health financing and the sustainability of current healthcare financing models in China.

This study discusses challenges faced by China’s health financing scheme in the light of population ageing such as the rising costs of Medicare Fund, a decreasing number of contributors. Additionally, it proposes policy measures aimed at mitigating these impacts.
