This document is the latest work to come out of the laboratory. It was drafted upstream to facilitate understanding between countries of the financial risk protection mechanisms in place and/or being installed. It was improved during the laboratory and afterwards. It is therefore a co-production of all the laboratory’s participants, a list of whom can be found in the appendix. It provides an overview of the status of the most significant financial risk protection mechanisms in 7 French-speaking African countries in December 2019. It’s imperfect and unsystematic, but it’s very rich and opens up important prospects for comparison and follow-up, which participants in future laboratories will be sure to seize upon. Lastly, it was the source of a final document entitled “Analyse croisée de l’assurance maladie dans 7 pays d’Afrique francophone”.
