The aim of the program is to increase the productive capacities of the most vulnerable households through a range of interventions, and to strengthen the national social safety net system to ensure greater social inclusion of poor and vulnerable populations.
The Productive Social Safety Net Program (PFPSP) was developed in 2022-2023 and anchored in the Government Action Plan 2022-2026 to complement ARCH, marking a key shift towards a national approach to social nets and strengthening the social protection system to ensure greater social inclusion of poor and vulnerable populations.
The PFPSP covers 3 strategic pillars, the third of which is dedicated to the expansion of the GBESSOKE productive social safety net.
It was drafted by a multi-sectoral team under the leadership of MASM, and approved at a technical workshop on April 1, 2022.
It is built around three pillars:
(a) the development of a productive social safety net ;
(b) developing the adaptive capacity of the social protection system; and
(c) strengthening the social protection system, notably through the integration of services.
