India is experiencing a demographic shift, with a large youthful workforce and a rapidly growing elderly population projected to reach 193 million by 2030, highlighting the urgent need for a robust and equitable health system. Universal Health Coverage is essential to address the diverse healthcare needs of both age groups, reduce disparities, and harness the economic and social potential of all citizens. While initiatives like Ayushman Bharat and the National Programme for Healthcare of the Elderly provide a foundation, India must further strengthen geriatric care, mental health services, and financial protection to ensure a resilient, inclusive health system for the future.
