The 2024 WHO Malawi Country Office Report shows major progress toward Universal Health Coverage and stronger health systems, achieved through alignment with national strategies and partner collaboration. Nine district-level reforms introduced integrated, people-centered service delivery with improved accountability and equity. Key gains included expanded health workforce norms, institutionalized National Health Accounts and Direct Facility Financing, and enhanced quality of care through RMNCAH initiatives. Health security advanced through cholera, measles, and cyclone responses, One Health coordination, and certification of wild poliovirus elimination. Progress in digital health, chronic disease management, and multilateral partnerships reinforced resilience, though financing gaps and limited ministry capacity remain challenges.
